Measurement Specialties to Show Full Line of Aerospace Testing
Accelerometers at North American Aero Test Expo
You have the opportunity to see Measurement Specialties’ full lineup of aerospace testing accelerometers later this month at the North American Aero Test Expo in Anaheim, California, November 14-16. All products will be available for viewing at Measurement Specialties’ Booth 1240.
Measurement Specialties' accelerometers have a history of success in demanding aerospace applications. The DC accelerometers feature gas damped MEMS sensing elements that provide high over-range protection and stable output. Other models also feature internal liquid damping for applications that require low-g measurements after exposure to severe shock loads. Measurement Specialties offers accelerometers featuring piezoresistive and variable capacitance MEMS elements, bonded gauge technology, and Piezo film and Piezo ceramic crystals.
Model 4603
Brand
new, hermetically sealed accelerometer designed for static & dynamic
flight test measurements. The accelerometer features an industry
standard envelope with a MEMS sensing element that offers exceptional
long term stability. The output is signal conditioned for optimum
measurement resolution.

For more than 20 years, Measurement Specialties’ technology -- in products such as Schaevitz® LVDTs and pressure transducers – has been used on commercial and military aircraft to provide system feedback and govern flight controls. Today the list extends to dozens of applications on jet airplanes, helicopters, weapons systems and satellites.
MEAS Sensors used for aerospace and military applications include pressure
transducers for hydraulics, compressors, cabin and engine monitoring; LVDTs
for actuators and throttle positioning; NTC thermistors for temperature
measurements for airplane environmental controls and power management in
satellites; miniature pressure sensors for flight tunnel testing; and
accelerometers for wing flutter and flight dynamics testing.
Measurement Specialties offers custom solutions, aerospace applications
expertise and proprietary technology for demanding aerospace applications.

New Board Mountable Pressure Sensors
 |
|
Model 4425 (side
tubes) and Model 4426 (top tube) pressure sensors are designed for cost
sensitive applications in medical devices, process control and factory
automation. |
Measurement
Specialties’ Pressure/Force Group is pleased to introduce Models 4425 and
4426 board mountable pressure sensors. The 4425 and 4426 are temperature
compensated, piezoresistive silicon pressure sensors packaged in a dual
in-line configuration in an industry standard form factor.
These sensors are
intended for cost sensitive applications where excellent performance and
long term stability are required. Applications include medical instruments
such as respirators and industrial measurements in process control, factory automation, leak detection.
They can also be used in low cost aerospace applications such as weather
balloon & ultralight altitude and airspeed measurements.
Model 4425 features
dual side port tubes and offers differential or absolute pressure
measurement. The tubes are parallel to the printed circuit board to allow
clearance above the sensor. Model 4426 features a single
vertical tube and offers absolute or gage pressure measurement.
Models 4425 and 4426 offer stability improvements over competitive sensors because of Measurement Specialties’ proprietary Ultrastable die technology. The Ultrastable die incorporates a resistor process in the monolithic silicon pressure chip. Also, the
package design features a thick ceramic substrate that eliminates mounting stress and package-related calibration shift.
For both models,
integral temperature compensation is provided over a range of 0-50°C using
laser-trimmed resistors. Non-linearity is +/- 0.25% across the compensated
temperature range. The pressure sensors are available in ranges from 0-1 psi to 0-100 psi. The pressure ports are 1/8” barbed ports which
mate with 3/32” ID tubing.
